MC course and Basic Teaching Skills

If you would like to MC at your dances or gain basic teaching skills, we are running the right course for you.

Saturday 15 January and Saturday 5 February 2022

10:30 am to 4:30 pm both days

St Stephen's Church Hall, St Albans AL1 2PT

The course is designed for dancers who lead social dancing or a group of dancers but have not taken the RSCDS teaching course.  You will learn dance and class planning, how to recap dances and work with musicians.

The course will include:

  • MC skills

  • Dance analysis

  • Social dance planning and lesson planning

  • Selection of music

  • How to recap

  • Class management

  • Working with a musician

and lots more.

RSCDS Centenary

Book 53

Thank you to the devisors and dancers for a spirited afternoon of eight dances proposed by members as entries for RSCDS Centenary Book 53. Dances were scored and ranked and, with a tie-break for one place, three dances have been chosen:

Reel,            Miss Lucy Clark

Strathspey,   Salute to Ian Robertson

Medley,         The Berkhamsted Medley.

There will be lots of entries internationally, so fingers crossed!
