RSCDS AGM November 2023

Herts and Borders was well represented at the RSCDS AGM. Ken was awarded the Scroll of Honour, Trevor Clarke, our Secretary, presented detailed changes to the Consitution to resolve ambiguities and Liz Mitchell,  member, and Chair of Lucy Clark SCDC, presented local initiatives at the panel discussion on recruitment and retention of dancers. And, of course, Lizzy Conder is RSCDS Treasurer.

We had a great time on 18 March 2023 at the Herts and Borders with Watford Scottish Ball celebrating 100 years of the RSCDS.

MC course and Basic Teaching Skills 

The MC and basic teaching skills course was held over two  Saturdays in January and February and eight dancers learned about managing classes, MC'ing dance evenings and clear recapping of dances.

RSCDS Centenary 

Book 53

 

Thank you to the devisors and dancers for a spirited afternoon of eight dances proposed by members as entries for RSCDS Centenary Book 53. Dances were scored and ranked and, with a tie-break for one place, three dances have been chosen:

​

Reel,            Miss Lucy Clark

Strathspey,   Salute to Ian Robertson

Medley,         The Berkhamsted Medley.

​

There will be lots of entries internationally, so fingers crossed!
