Develop your dancing here in Herts and Borders
As well as the Herts Triple-Decker, here at Herts Branch we are lucky to have two of the first dancers qualified as mentors for the Core Training for Instructors.
Click the button to learn more about gaining dance instructor training via this new initiative from the RSCDS with the support of familiar local teachers and mentors.
You can develop your dancing skills through the RSCDS with
Medal Tests and the Dancing Achievement Award.
If you would like to teach SCD there are courses for
Basic Teaching Skills and Teacher Certification
as well as the Core Instructor Training here in Herts.
Our first Triple Decker
A full house for the first of our Triple Decker afternoons with teacher Mervyn Short and music from Adam Brady.
See pictures of the afternoon and read more below about the next Triple Decker in the series.
MC course and Basic Teaching Skills
The MC and basic teaching skills course was held over two Saturdays in January and February and eight dancers learned about managing classes, MC'ing dance evenings and clear recapping of dances.
Thank you to the devisors and dancers for a spirited afternoon of eight dances proposed by members as entries for RSCDS Centenary Book 53. Dances were scored and ranked and, with a tie-break for one place, three dances have been chosen:
Reel, Miss Lucy Clark
Strathspey, Salute to Ian Robertson
Medley, The Berkhamsted Medley.
There will be lots of entries internationally, so fingers crossed!
